A-Lex is the upcoming eleventh studio album by Brazilian metal band Sepultura. It is scheduled for release on January 23, 2009 by independent German record label SPV. This is the first album featuring new drummer Jean Dolabella, since the departure of Igor Cavalera in 2006.[1]
This is the second concept album released by Sepultura, following 2006's Dante XXI which was based on Dante Alighieri's The Divine Comedy. A-Lex is based on the 1962 book A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, which in 1971 was adapted into a film version by Stanley Kubrick.

Kid Rock maintains a remarkable propensity for wearing his contradictions on his sleeve, and more than anything he's previously released, Rock n Roll Jesus finds fuel in unresolved opposites. Ever since he first began shedding his rap/rock posture to be the next Ted Nugent, Kid Rock has constructed his public persona out of full-frontal ambivalence: race, class, sex, religion, money, whatever it takes. This album's bookends--the title song and "bonus" track, "Lowlife (Living the Highlife)"--demonstrate all this irreconcilable nonsense in no uncertain terms, but all his polar wobbling is at least stabilized by a firm commitment to southern-styled rock, tinged at times with gospel, blues, a lingering need to rap ("Sugar"), and a rare, soul-fed instrumental jambalaya ("New Orleans"). Mudvayne is an American rock band from Peoria, Illinois, formed in 1996. The band comprises founder, and frontman Chad Gray, guitarist Greg Tribbett, bassist Ryan Martinie and drummer Matthew McDonough. Signed onto Epic Records, Mudvayne has released three studio albums, two compilations, two DVDs, and just released their new album, The New Game, on November 18, 2008.
Mudvayne rose to fame in 2000 with their debut album L.D. 50, which peaked at number 85 on the Billboard 200, and has since been certified gold by the RIAA. The lead single from the album, "Dig", won the MTV2 Award at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2001. This was also the first time the award was ever presented to a metal band. In 2006 Mudvayne was nominated for Best Metal Performance at the Grammy Awards for the single "Determined" from the band's 2005 studio album Lost and Found. Mudvayne has four gold certifications by the RIAA, and has sold nearly three million albums in the United States.
Mudvayne initially formed in 1996 as a rap-metal group with Chad Gray, Greg Tribbet, Matthew McDonough, and Shawn Barclay. Before that, they were actually a Nirvana cover band. The original lead singer soon left which shortly after found their new lead Chad. Eventually, they adopted more melodic lines and released their demo, Kill, I Oughtta. In 1998, then bassist Shawn Barclay was replaced by current bassist Ryan Martinie.
The New Game and the fifth full-length album (2008-2009).
The fourth studio album by Mudvayne was originally put on hold in the summer of 2007, due to vocalist Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbett touring with Hellyeah. Following the tour, Mudvayne reunited and began recording the album with producer Dave Fortman, who also produced their previous effort, Lost and Found. Fortman reported to MTV that the album will be followed six months later by a second full-length record. He also attested that while the album should please listeners, it will also incorporate a distinct rock and roll sound unheard on previous Mudvayne records. "It's heavy and has great hooks," said Fortman, "but it also has some moments that are a little more rock n' roll that are really cool. It's not anything drastic, but every now and then you'll catch a little hint of old-school rock. Also, the tones are a little more earthy sounding and a little warmer than Lost and Found".
The first single from the album, "Do What You Do", entered airplay on September 23, 2008.
Mudvayne plans on releasing another full-length collection of new material next summer. The band is said to have most of the music for the second album written, but still needs vocal melodies on four songs. "We may go for even more of a metal approach on some of the songs to break it up a little bit," Fortman told Headbanger's Blog. "But who knows what they’ll come up with." Mudvayne are planning on releasing their 5th studio album on July 27, 2009.
Mudvayne will continue the New Game Tour in February 2009 with Nonpoint and In This Moment.

Saving Abel is an American rock band formed by Jared Weeks and Jason Null in 2004. The band's name references the biblical story of Cain and Abel. Null came up with the name saying “I googled the story of Cain and Abel and found a line about ‘there was no Saving Abel,’ which just jumped out at me.” However despite the name, they're not a Christian band.
Jared Weeks and Jason Null formed the band in their small hometown of Corinth, Mississippi in 2004. Weeks was playing guitar at his best friend’s house, when Null, who was in a rival local group walked in to rehearse with his band. Within days of that meeting, Null and Weeks were writing songs for the future Saving Abel band. In early 2005, the pair’s songs caught the ear of noted producer Skidd Mills (ZZ Top, Saliva, and Robert Cray), who took the band into his 747 Studios in Memphis.
Saving Abel gradually came together with guitarist Scott Bartlett, bassist Eric Taylor, and drummer Blake Dixon. Weeks would toss Saving Abel demos onto the stage whenever bigger bands played in town. Weeks remembers: “ I used to work at a hospital. I’d have to be there at 4:30 in the morning drawing blood. I’d wake people up and stick a needle in their arm. I’d be walking around the hospital, singing ‘Addicted’ in my head, writing down the lyrics on patients’ clipboards and doctor script pads.
After shopping their EP for almost a year, a copy of ‘Addicted’ found its way to former Virgin A&R Consultant, Scott Frazier partner, Rick Smith. They were so excited that they sent the song to company CEO, Jason Flom. Flom heard enough to send A&R vet Kim Stephens (Collective Soul, Matchbox 20, Edwin McCain) to see the band in Jackson, TN.
Saving Abel released their self-titled, major label debut album on March 11, 2008. The album features the single "Addicted" which peaked at #2 on the US Mainstream Rock Chart. As of November 2008 Saving Abel's self-titled album has sold over 222,858 copies and peaked at #53 on the Billboard 200. The album itself was entirely made on FL Studio.
The band is set to begin a tour with Nickelback and Seether in early 2009.
